When neighbors are concerned and care about their community they get involved and take action in community services like: oRegularly check on Seniors in the block. oMake sure children play safely and commute back and forth to school safely. oOrganize multiple Clean & Green and maintain an attractive neighborhood. oCall the police and attend CAPS BEAT meetings. oDeter gangs, guns and drugs in their neighborhood. Please contact our office for a Block Club party application package. The following is required for a block party permit: oBlock Party Permit Application. Due a minimum of 14 days prior to Block Party date. oBlank petition forms. You are required to collect a minimum of 70% signatures from the residents of the block. While collecting the petitions it gives you a great opportunity to notify neighbors of the block party and recruit volunteers. Make sure before you circulate the petition you have a date and location for the Block Party Organizing Committee meeting. Our office is availwill provide you the estimate 70% total required and we are available to you; for copies of Block Club Party meeting notices and flyers. oFire Department Fire Engine Request. Please keep in mind this application is a request for the Fire Department to consider attending. You will not get a confirmation if they will attend. Only if they are available will they be able to attend your Block Party. oJumping Jack Application. The Mayor’s Office of Special Events request applications to be submitted a minimum of 4 weeks prior to the Block Party date. Please return all the completed forms to our office at 2710 N. Sawyer Avenue. My staff is available in assisting you to having a successful event. Feel free to call the office at 773-365-3535 if you have any questions.
